Winter Timeless Engagement Photoshoot In Guelph, Ontario.

If you know anything about me, you know I’m Cuban. And by "Cuban," I mean, I’m practically allergic to cold weather. Seriously. The cold and I are not friends. In fact, we are on a first-name basis when it comes to avoiding each other—because I’m all about the sun, the beach, and anything that doesn’t involve shivering.

So, naturally, when winter rolls around, I tend to hibernate. I’ll go out if I absolutely have to, but let’s just say you won’t catch me outside enjoying the chill. I prefer to stay bundled up under layers of blankets, with a hot drink in hand, dreaming of warmer days.

But this year… something changed. I don’t know if it was the early promise of snow or just a desire to step out of my comfort zone, but I decided to do something totally out of character—I booked a winter photoshoot. In -21°C weather.Yes, you read that right. It was so cold I couldn’t feel my fingers at one point. And yet… I loved it.

This particular session took place on the beautiful campus of Guelph University. I met up with this amazing newly engaged young couple, who were clearly braver than me (they were chill—pun intended). We started off a little hesitant, both of us thinking, “Why are we doing this?” But as we got into it, we realized something magical was happening. The crisp winter air, the snowflakes falling gently around us, and the chemistry between these two? All of it made for the most stunning photos!

Sure, we took a few breaks to thaw out our fingers and make sure we didn’t get frostbite, but it was totally worth it. We were all freezing, but we were also laughing and having such a good time. In the end, the photos turned out amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better team (even though one of them was possibly questioning their life choices while I was snapping away in a puffed-up coat).

And here’s the kicker—I think I’m hooked. Yes, you heard me right. I want more winter shoots now. I know, I know… I’m shocked too. It turns out winter can actually be beautiful when you embrace it. The cold doesn’t seem so bad when you’re doing something you love with people who are just as adventurous as you.

So, to all the brave souls out there willing to take on the chill—hit me up. Let’s make some more frosty magic happen. And I’ll promise to wear extra warm gloves next time. Maybe.
